Suggestion:

I suggest a new behavior for the vertical tab sidebar: a collapsed mode that is toggled by clicking, instead of expanding on hover.

Current Behavior:

Pinned: The sidebar is always expanded.

Hover to Expand: The sidebar is collapsed and expands when the mouse hovers over it.

Proposed Behavior:
Add a third mode: Click to Toggle.

In this mode, the sidebar remains collapsed (e.g., showing only icons) and does not expand on hover. A single click on the sidebar area would toggle it between its expanded and collapsed states.

Why this is better:

Reduces Accidental Expansion: The current hover behavior can be distracting and cover up content when the mouse moves to the side of the screen accidentally.

Increases User Control: A click is a deliberate, intentional action. This gives users full control over when the sidebar expands.

Best of Both Worlds: It provides the screen space of a collapsed sidebar with the easy, on-demand access of an expanded one, without the disruption of hover effects.
