How do I connect to a sketch using the API client?

In a python shell first you have to get a TS client object.

from timesketch_api_client import config

client = config.get_client()

There are more ways to configure the get_client, eg. to make use of a different config section (if you've got more than a single section in the RC file), or if you've got a manual password for the token file, etc.... To get more information you can open up ipython or a notebook and type:

config.get_client?

And get the docstring.

But let's go back to getting a sketch object. To get a sketch object:

sketch = client.get_sketch(SKETCH_ID)

Replace the SKETCH_ID with the ID for the sketch you want to fetch

You can also confirm that this is the correct sketch by using

sketch.name

and

sketch.name
