No, it isn't Claude Code only. Ruflo officially supports Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, and because it also runs as an MCP server, it works with other MCP-capable clients. Codex: there is a dedicated adapter package, @claude-flow/codex. You set it up with: # Codex only
npx ruflo@latest init --codex
# Codex plus all skills
npx ruflo@latest init --codex --full
# Both Claude Code and Codex in the same project
npx ruflo@latest init --dualThat registers the MCP server and installs the skills for Codex. The split is that Codex does the coding and Ruflo handles orchestration and memory. See the adapter README: https://github.com/ruvnet/ruflo/blob/fce8e6da5a6edda3791367b244066e6c67730196/v3/%40claude-flow/codex/README.md and the top of the main README, which describes it as "an agent meta-harness for Claude Code and Codex": Line 24 in fce8e6d Other agents (Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT and so on): there is no dedicated init adapter for them, but you can point any MCP client at the server: npx ruflo@latest mcp startThe user guide has config snippets for several of them (Claude Desktop, VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, ChatGPT): Line 1256 in fce8e6d In those clients you get the MCP tools (memory, swarm coordination, agents). The tighter Claude Code and Codex integration, such as init-generated config and hooks, is only set up for those two. Note that ChatGPT and other hosted clients need a remote MCP endpoint rather than the local command. |
