An operations layer for application environments.
Every team has the same three environments and no honest relationship between them.
Production has the real data. Local has fake data that hides every interesting bug. Staging is somewhere in between and nobody's quite sure when it was last true. Moving anything between them means a folder of shell scripts that one person understands, and a quiet agreement not to think too hard about the customer records now sitting on four laptops.
BramaOS is building the layer that owns those relationships — starting with the one that nobody has solved.
A single Go binary that puts a working copy of production on your machine with none of the real data in it. Anonymization runs on the server, during the dump, so raw values never leave it. The mapping from real to fake is destroyed when the dump ends — no key, nothing to reverse.
Deployment, rollback, and recovery points follow. Deployment is a commodity; safe production data isn't.
Pre-alpha, built in the open. Apache-2.0.
Brama Cloud — approvals, audit, fleet management, and policy distribution for teams. The CLI stays complete software: Cloud adds coordination, not functionality.
Brama Agent — drift detection, scheduled recovery points, live environment state.
Refuse rather than guess. A tool that warns you and continues is not a control. When Brama doesn't know what a column contains, it stops — and tells you exactly which one.
Guarantees beat features. "Raw production values never leave the production server" is something you can check. "Has anonymization" isn't.
No agent should hold your root key. The right boundary between an automated actor and production is a narrow command with a policy behind it — not a shell and a strongly worded prompt. And where that boundary has limits, we document them instead of marketing over them.
Nothing runs on your server that doesn't need to. No daemon, no background process, no open port. Authentication stays OpenSSH's, secrets stay yours.
BramaOS is an operations system — a control layer for application environments. It is not
an operating system. The CLI is always brama.
Brama (брама) is Ukrainian for gate.
