Release of four staging commits (cherry-picked with -x from 14e7466, 9c0ce9f, 772d7c5, 93e4949). This is the follow-up to the CTA audit after #1102.

Marketing site

  • feat(docs): add a Sign in link to the navbar. The header's only app link was "Start free". Over 30 days, 34 of the 300 sessions that started on /register went on to /login. "Sign in" now sits next to "Start free" on desktop and in the mobile menu. It opens in the same tab and is tracked as nav_clicked with navItem: sign_in.
  • feat(docs): use one signup label and one demo label. The generic signup buttons used five labels: "Start free", "Start analyzing for free", "Start free, no credit card", "Create free account" and "Try chat free". The hero, compare pages, compare not-found page, compare stats card and demo page now all read Start free. On the compare page, "no credit card" moves into the paragraph above the button. Feature pages keep their outcome labels ("Start monitoring", "Create your first flag", "Start tracking errors"). Demo links read Try the live demo. The "Live demo" badge and the in-page "Load the live demo" button are unchanged because they do different jobs.

Dashboard

  • feat(dashboard): name buttons by what they do. In Databunny's goal, funnel, link and annotation cards, the bare "Create" button now names the item ("Create goal" and so on). The two AI-crawler setup buttons read "Track AI reads" instead of "Set up". The forgot-password page keeps "Didn't receive a code?" as plain text, and only "Resend code" is the button.
  • feat(dashboard): say Start monitoring wherever a monitor begins. This covers the Monitors header and empty state, the Home monitors section ("Add" and "Create your first monitor"), the Pulse empty state, the monitor sheet title and submit button, and the command palette entry. Adding an existing monitor to a status page keeps "Add monitor". The monitors E2E selectors are updated.

Verification: dashboard and docs tsc clean, Biome clean, dashboard unit tests 207 pass, commit hooks pass. I also searched every test (unit and E2E, including regressions/) for the old labels. The only reference was monitors.spec.ts, which is updated.

Summary by cubic

Implements the follow-up to the CTA audit: signup buttons across the marketing site now read "Start free", demo links read "Try the live demo", the docs navbar gains a "Sign in" link, and dashboard buttons are renamed to say what they do.

Marketing site

  • Adds a "Sign in" link next to "Start free" in the desktop navbar and mobile menu; it opens in the same tab and is tracked as nav_clicked with navItem: sign_in. 34 of 300 sessions that started on /register went on to /login.
  • Replaces the five signup label variants with "Start free"; "no credit card" moves into the copy above the compare page button.
  • Demo links now read "Try the live demo"; the "Live demo" badge and "Load the live demo" button are unchanged because they serve different purposes.

Dashboard

  • Bare "Create" buttons in goal, funnel, link, and annotation cards now name the item they create.
  • AI crawler setup buttons read "Track AI reads" instead of "Set up".
  • On the forgot-password page, "Didn't receive a code?" stays as text with text-pretty wrapping; only "Resend code" is a button.
  • Monitor entry points across the header, empty states, monitor sheet, and command palette now all say "Start monitoring"; adding an existing monitor to a status page keeps "Add monitor". E2E selectors updated.

Written for commit 93ce8e1. Summary will update on new commits.
